Service Description
* administers programs / services that improve education and training opportunities, the transition to work, access to career development and career development information. Job referral and placement services for students and youth are available* establishes partnerships with the private and public sector to create employment and training opportunities
* offers programs which provide wage incentives to private sector employers to create employment opportunities for students and youth through First Jobs Fund
* provides part-time employment with government departments for post-secondary students during the school year
* provides students with opportunities to receive career-related work experience through:
Career Options for Students with Disabilities: Creates summer employment opportunities between April and August within the provincial government for students with disabilities
Manitoba Youth Job Centres: Increases summer employment opportunities for students and youth
Partners With Youth: Partners with Winnipeg and rural organizations to deliver projects that will improve participant's employability, prepare them for further training, job search or result in employment
STEP Service: Provides students with referrals to part-time, full-time and cooperative education placements with government departments, Crown corporations and Special Operating Agencies
Volunteers in Public Service (VIPS): Provides placement in career-related volunteer positions within the provincial government
Young Entrepreneurs: Encourages youth to start their own full-time business
