Service Description

Focuses on the health of the entire populations or communities. Public Health Nursing expertise is in the promotion and protection of health and the prevention of disease. Community Health Workers work with Public Health Nurses in designated communities across the region. The Public Health Program provides a broad range of services that include: Reproductive health, pregnancy/childbirth and parenting; Family health for children, adolescents, adults and the elderly; Nutrition education; Prevention of injury, chronic diseases and substance abuse/addictions; Families First Program; Immunizations; Sexually Transmitted Infections; Healthy Baby - Growing Healthy Families; Communicable Disease Control.
