Service Description

* provides trauma-informed assistance / counselling to Newcomers and Refugees who face difficulties when adapting to Canadian life
* offers one-to-one and group counselling; outreach; advocacy
* provides short-term intervention to immigrants, refugees, newcomer Canadians experiencing mental health difficulties related to adapting to life in a new country
* has educational workshops, presentations about adapting to life in Canada, including information about schools/education, employment, EIA (Employment and Income Assistance), housing, health, money management
* holds English conversation circles several times a year, in-person or online
* provides counselling to those coming from countries where a state of war and repression existed, who have experienced violence, abuse, or other traumatic life events as a result
* provides settlement services, connecting newcomers with settled Immigrants/Canadian Citizens
* has Strengthening Families programs promote healthy relationships via cooking, crafts and land based programming for women, men and youth
