Service Description
* provides employment services for newcomers in 4 stages: Assessment, Action Plan and Resume; Job Search; Job Interview; Canadian Workplace PreparationAssessment, Action Plan and Resume: facilitates individual assessment reviews of work experience, education, history, type of job wanted; facilitator develops action plan with the client's participation; information gained during this stage helps facilitators prepare a resume which the client can use in their job search
job search: provides customized assistance for each client based on their canadian language benchmark (clb); job search workshop includes classroom presentation plus opportunity to learn how to apply for jobs using the internet; at end of this stage clients receive 10 copies of their resume and a list of references, job search; related links
Job Interview: provides information about the job interview process, how to prepare effectively; clients have the option to meet with an Employment Facilitator for additional support / help to prepare before an actual interview
Canadian Workplace Preparation: helps clients prepare for the Canadian workplace by teaching about employers' expectations, Canadian workplace culture, Employment Standards
Job Club: supports clients in their job search; are held each week
* provides access to food handler training, first aid training, WHMIS training, computer classes on an ongoing basis to improve job readiness skills
