Service Description* provides free orientation, language classes for immigrants who are unable to attend Entry Program classes in person.
Participants will cover these orientation topics:
Employment: working in Canada, where to get help to look for work, workplace regulations, workplace culture, income tax;
Getting around: English language training, using maps and bus schedules, money, banking, shopping, library membership;
Laws: family law, driving and alcohol laws, safety tips, police and legal services;
Health: finding a family doctor, accessing health services, emergency and non-emergency services, staying healthy and cultural adjustment.
Classes run for 4 weeks; there are online classes and self-guided activities; schedule is arranged by facilitator and client.
